American Express Teen/Student Prepaid Cards–no load or purchase fees!!

Is your teen going to college in the fall? Or do you want to track your teens spending while at home?

Here is the answer:

American Express has a PASS Debit Card which you can have in your teens name, with their picture on it and reload funds directly from your bank account!

I just started using these debit cards for one reason:

3 of our boys like to use my credit card number for their online games such as XBox live, World or Warcraft and Itunes. So at the end of the month when I get my credit card statement I have to find out which one used my credit card and who I collect the funds from! You see at our house, they have to either do chores for me to pay or they use their own money. Well many of these games require a credit card and it is total disarray to try and figure out who used what because all the charges look the same!

This card will also come in handy when my boys go to out of state Baseball tournaments with another baseball parent. I don't have to worry about them losing cash and if they run out I can simply reload! Note it does take a few days so it is better to load before they leave as a just in case backup!

These cards give me peace of mind for when they are out of state and it will also teach them to balance their money while home. Not too mention, you can see where they are spending their money! They can call the number on the card anytime to see their balance giving them control over their spending.

Other debit card companies charge a monthly fee and load and withdrawal fees. American Express PASS card has none of these fees. The only fee your teen would incur would be if taking cash from ATM's. There is a $2 ATM fee that will go on the card along with the standard ATM machine fee. The PASS card allows one free ATM withdrawal per month.

So what are you waiting for? Have peace of mind your son or daughter will be at college with funds available to them!!
